Classroom visits center around stories about my childhood and how I became a writer. For example: "I was a classroom cut-up, a bad student until I wrote
my first poem about my grandmother being a Pipil Nahua Indian. I sensed for the first time that words gave me a sense of freedom."

- Readings from my books.
- Reading samples of my writing.
- Explaining how I write a poem.
- Explaining where I find my stories.
- Explaining how I start a story.
- Where does my inspiration come from?
