Assemblies are a fun and lively talk of my life as a writer. Students will have the opportunity to hear and interact with me with their questions:
    •    Stories about my struggle to become a writer.
    •    Stories of growing up in an impoverished neighborhood in El Salvador.
    •    A moving testimony of a self taught writer.
    •    Storytelling.
    •    Questions and answers.
Please note that fees are different if out city or state.
Little Elementary School Monsters
"Even before Jorge Argueta set up his book display in our school library, there was anticipation in the air. A small group of students in a before-school program were working on study skills in their second language, English. These bilingual Latino children noticed Jorge in the hallway and could not contain their enthusiasm over seeing a "famous author". But the excitement didn't stop there. Jorge came into the little conference room, at the invitation of their teacher, and chatted with the children, asking each one his/her name, encouraging them to come to school every day, and asking them about their interests. It was quite obvious that Jorge quickly had become, not just their favorite author, but their friend and hero! And it also became obvious to me that he was indeed the perfect choice for our school-wide author's study this year and our honored guest. He is very good at making connections with children, both through his books and in person."
